I wasn’t meant to go to Stockholm at all- it was a last minute decision as a result of poor planning, which found me jetting off to Stockholm after a quick check of available flights whilst I was at the airport. If you are a former airline employee this will make perfect sense, for everyone else, trust me, it could be stressful but all worth it in the end. Anyway, I ended up in Stockholm in January, without proper winter clothes, freezing and kicking myself for not doing my research properly. I was running past this church, trying to get to my hotel to warmth and a cup of tea when I saw this church. I stopped dead in my tracks because it was so unusual. It didn’t look like the typical churches I had seen across Europe. I wanted to go in but it was already late. As I looked up, I had this incredible sense of peace and calm and something told me that my life was about to change and it was all going to fall in place. I had no idea what “all” meant at the time, but that was the year when it became crystal clear that my desert adventure would soon come to an end.
