St. Moritz just happened:) the cards fell into place and I ended up on one of the most scenic train routes from Zurich to St. Moritz on the Bernina Express. It was one of those routes where you don’t even want to blink in case you miss something- because it is all beautiful, what you miss will inevitably be beautiful. It was something out of a children’s novel, the snow capped mountains, picturesque villages and the postcard views. I went during the low season, it was so quiet and peaceful, the locals were friendly and happy to talk to a wandering stranger. Along my wanderings, I encountered a local store keeper, with the cutest white doggie I had ever seen. I only make reference to this ruff because I wasn’t entirely a dog person until I met him and spent more time with him than I should have (yes I have pictures so it actually happened and I am referring to the ruff).

Thanks to an incredible soul, I stayed at the Kempinski and I felt like a princess in my enchanted castle. The Kempinski was by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. I certainly don’t have enough space to share my thoughts about the champagne breakfasts, buffet lunches/dinners and drinking the most delicious white wines. All I know is that I wanted to be a familiar face there, a household name even. To be greeted with familiarity every year and taken to my usual suite, where everything was exactly how it was the year before. Before you roll your eyes, remember, I did say that I felt like a princess there:)

I promised myself that I would go back and that’s one promise I intend to keep, hopefully with the same incredible friend I got to share this amazing experience with the first time. I would love to step back into this picture perfect part of the world and relive this fairytale just one more time.
