Contrary to popular belief I didn’t go to the City of Brotherly Love for the Brothers, the love or the Cheesesteaks. I went to Philadelphia because I had never been, my airline had just started flying there and I had days off, so it made sense to go. I went during the NFL Draft season which would have meant something to me if I watched the NFL but I didn’t. So when the crowds of people were heading towards the Draft place/field/area with all the people, I went on a Segway tour of the city to explore and to get a crash course on Philly. (I must add that the best way to see any city is on a Segway, fun, fast and anyone can do it. ) The first thing I needed to do according to every single person I met, was try a Philly Cheesesteak and only two places in town were worth the visit and thankfully part of the Segway tour. I tried Pat’s Steaks and Gino’s and even though I am standing in front of Pat’s, Gino’s was delicious and for a non beef lover, this is very high praise coming from me. I still remember that cheesesteak with mushroom and all things delicious. After my first bite it was obvious why Gino’s is open 24 hours and the constant lineup outside is a no-brainer. Next on the tour was finding a hoagie, again I had no idea what that was and may have rolled my eyes when I discovered it was a sandwich.

A trip to Philadelphia for me wasn’t complete without a historical tour and I spent the day learning about the Founding Fathers and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. I even saw the infamous Liberty Bell. Because I didn’t really study American history, the tour didn’t really pique my interest, it was just a very well organized tour that depicted an important part of American history.
