“Unexpected emotions will never die. They are buried alive, and will come forth later, in uglier ways”
Sigmund Freud as cited in “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides
This is a well written thriller, the ending was spectacular, so much so that I read it three times. So chilling, the extent to which emotions and feelings can drive us to such intense actions.
Despite this book being fiction, it still reminds me of the importance of paying attention to emotions. I have recently found the value in sitting still, identifying and describing what I am feeling and then asking myself, “Why am I feeling this way? What is the root cause?”
