By now you must have worked out that I spent a lot of time in Germany, I really loved it, with each city I visited I loved it even more. Dusseldorf was exactly how I always imagined Europe would be, the cobbled pavements, old historic buildings, narrow streets and restuarants and bars everywhere. Dusseldorf not only impressed me, it left me grinning like an idiot thanks to … err certain German hospitality that had me flashing my dimples:) I later learnt that this city was famous for its’ arts, music and also a popular choice for bachelor and bachelorette parties as we later witnessed on our night out. We stumbled across a bachelor party where the theme was German barmaids (I think) and saw all the men dressed in dirndlkleid and charming hairstyles (wigs styled in pigtails).

I first heard of Dusseldorf when I was a child, thanks to my stamp collecting hobby. My favourite stamp was from Dusseldorf and made specially for the holiday season, depicting a couple walking arm in arm in the snow down a narrow street with a Christmas tree and Christmas lights, ah the magic of the holidays. That stamp formulated an image of a picture perfect town, I didn’t go during the holidays but it still left that a different kind of imagery in my mind, my very own picture perfect city with a charming name.
