Boston holds a very special place in my heart, a true hidden gem. I loved this beautiful coastal city that gave me Cape Town vibes but not the same Cape Town feelings. I got to visit Boston with my favourite person and we were both impressed and agreed that this was one of the loveliest places we had visited. Our whole experience was around the Boston harbour , largely because we love being by the water. The easiest way to see Boston is the hop on and hop off trolley, we hoped on and didn’t hop off, Boston was very chilly. On this tour we got to see the Paul Revere House and Fanueil Hall, both of which satisfied the history nerd in me. We also got to see Harvard and MIT, I really think had I gone as a student this would have meant something, but as an adult, it just looked like any other old universities founded by old money.
One of the main places I wanted to visit was Cheers. I watched the show growing up and it was definitely the nostalgia that motivated me to include it on our trip. Sadly, no one knew my name, it was also so crowded and just felt like a regular bar that mum and I opted for dinner by the harbour.
I hope I will find my way back to Boston, I still don’t think anyone will know my name but that magnificent Boston harbour makes up for it.
